Aaron Bastani’s book: Fully Automated Luxury Communism.

Do we accept the premise that we will reach post-scarcity within our generation, or ever?

  • Will labor not be a thing anymore? Or will new jobs continue to pop up and replace those that will disappear as with previous technological revolutions?

If the labor force/consumer base is significantly diminished, can markets continue to function?

  • Capitalism is a great system for organizing scarce resources, but does it become obsolete if resources, information, and labor are no longer -- or much, much less -- scarce?

Is capitalism keeping us from being good citizens?

  • If we could be within reach of a new system that can deliver a higher quality of life for more people, do we have the moral responsibility and the political will to make that happen? Or will we cling to an outdated system for the enrichment of a few and the detriment of many?
